VYBZ FM is part of the Family Radio Network covering markets throughout
the Leeward Islands … Antigua & Barbuda 92.9, Montserrat 89.9 & 90.9,
St. Kitts 98.3, Nevis 89.9 & 90.9, Anguilla 90.5, and St. Maarten 90.5. They
began operations from the beautiful island of Montserrat in 2001, then moved
to Antigua in 2003. With a wide variety of programs and the most hype
on-air DJ's in the region, VYBZ FM provides a unique network blend of music
including Hip Hop, R&B, Dancehall, Oldies, Soca, Steel Pan, Calypso,
Jazz and Gospel. Music, entertainment and information for the
entire family is at its best on The Family Radio Network where they deliver
GOOD VYBZ.
ZDK 1100-AM was established in 1970. At 10,000 watts of power, it covers the islands of the Northeast Caribbean, including the entire island of Antigua. It is an action station with news and music. Their music format is up-tempo Pop, Reggae, Calypso, Rap and Hip Hop, catering to all age groups.
SUN FM100 was established in May 1995 catering to the upscale
adult, 25 to 54. The station has a loyal following of young adult listeners
during
2 afternoon programs that run from Noon until 7PM. It is important
to note that SUN FM reaches approximately 60% to 75% of the Antigua market
share
of radio listeners.
Every morning from 5AM-6AM there is a religious program.
6AM-9AM DJ, Dennis Seon plays adult contemporary music, local
and BBC news.
9AM-12PM The DJ Gravity Show features a mix of local R&B,
Calypso, Raggae and international music.
12PM-3PM The "Swamp" Show appeals to the youth group,
15-24 playing Hip Hop, DanceHall, Reggae, Rap and Socca. "Swamp" takes
many calls from young listeners who request tunes, announce birthdays
and general crazy kids stuff.
3PM-7PM The Bruce Barkley Show continues the liveliness with
the same format.
Television
ABS TV Channel 10 (Antigua and Barbuda Broadcasting Service) transmits to all of the Leeward Islands including Anguilla, St. Maarten, Saba, St. Barts, Barbuda, St. Eustacius, St. Kitts, Nevis and Montserrat. Channel 10 broadcasts Monday through Sunday, 5PM to Midnight; the only time commercial insertions are accepted for airing. Programming includes The Bold & the Beautiful, The Young & the Restless, local, international and regional news, local programs, sitcoms and movies. |
