Television ZNS TV 13 (Broadcasting Corporation of the Bahamas) began operation in 1977 and cable television services to Freeport and Grand Bahama in November 1991. In 1983 they installed equipment to receive satellite transmissions for rebroadcast. TV 13's local news is widely viewed throughout the country.
