Radio Radio Metropole 100.1-FM has a high market share of news listeners covering the entire country and is considered the Number 1 choice for radio news over 2 other stations. Although there are no formal surveys, Radio Metropole support data comes primarily from local television and radio broadcasters who speak very highly about the professional delivery of the news on this station. Also, and not to be taken lightly, Radio Metropole is the station of choice of taxicab drivers.
Radio Super Star 103-FM covers the entire country reaching an affluent audience, 25 to 54, with an all music format. They feature music from all over the world including French, Spanish, Arab, Salsa, Merengue, Haitian and Calypso. The DJs are famous for their on-air interviews of famous musicians.
Television TeleHaiti is the only Cable television provider in the Port-au-Prince area with 10,000 paying subscribers and, most likely, an additional 10,000 non-paying subscribers. Ten channels broadcast in French, 10 in English and 1 in Spanish. Commercial advertisements are inserted only on the following networks: Societe Radio Canada (French), RFO Tempo (French), TVA Tele Metropole (French Canadian), ESPN International and CNN Headline News. TeleHaiti produces its own local 30-minute news program and talk show in Creole. |
