Radio NICE Radio 90.3-FM, 96.7-FM & 101.3-FM features a combination of news, talk, informative, educational and religious programs, along with a music mix of Calypso, Reggae, Dance Hall and R&B. The majority of the audience falls between the 18-49 adult demographic. NICE radio primarily reaches the entire island of St. Vincent, however, it also reaches the Grenadines and St. Lucia.
Cross Country Radio (CCR) 104.3FM & 88.5FM covers the entire country
with a unique music format consisting of country music, AC love songs and
R&B oldies. Founded in December 1999, the station appeals to the mature
adult audience, 25+, with a slight female skew. Top radio personality, Bernard
Joseph, hangs his hat at CCR, and soon he'll be on the air delighting the
St Vincent listeners with his unique style and appeal. The Motorcycle Club
is a very popular morning program featuring topical issues, politics, and
special events.
NBC 107.5FM, 90.7FM & 89.7FM is owned by the government of
St. Vincent. The station is heard throughout the country and
caters to all ages.
HOT FM-105.3 & 96.1 covers the entire country of St.Lucia. The station targets an adult audience under 40 which actually makes up 75% of the island's population, and from that figure, approximately 50% represents the working population. The station format was based upon these figures. HOT features a mix of upbeat, Reggae, Socca, Zuk, Hip Hop Pop, R&B and Country music. Sam Flood, formerly of Radio 100, is one of the island's most popular DJ's. His show, "Di Muy Dou" draws many listeners. The program airs Monday-Saturday, 5AM-7AM, and broadcast totally in Creole. The locals love it! The station often brings in concerts and promotes the very popular, National Karoke Contest, a major fest starting in May and ending in December with a live broadcast featuring the finalists where a winner will be selected. HOT is always ready to provide a "home" to its advertisers.
Radio 100-FM in St. Lucia features a mix of Caribbean music, local, regional
and international news, Creole news and talk programs. It reaches adults
25-44. A very high percentage of the St. Lucia audience listens to FM-100
on weekends in the 15-24, skewing slightly higher to the male demographic.
Television SVG-TV (St. Vincent & the Grenadines Broadcasting Corp., Ltd.) was established in 1981 to cover areas of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, reaching over 100,000 households with 5 channels.
HTS TV (Helen Television System) was established in 1983 as the national TV service for St. Lucia, with a transmitter range extending to the western and central areas of Barbados, Martinique, southern Dominica and northern St. Vincent on channels 4 and 5. They have the only uplink facility owned by a private station in the Caribbean which frequently uplinks to many U.S. domsats. HTS reaches a total of 205,000 households with a viewing population of 800,000. |
